Theme-based Workshop on Looking at Student Work
Part 1: Introduction and workshop objectives

9:15 am - 9:45 am
Part 2: Planning for LASW (Pre-LASW preparation)

LASW can serve both accountability and professional development purposes. It helps teachers gain a deeper understanding of student learning and inform teacher and curriculum development.
Curriculum leaders should consider what data to be given to other panel members to help them understand students' performance and make objective judgement.

9:45 am - 10:00 am
Part 3: LASW in practice (While-LASW exercise)

When teachers look at student work, they should look at whether students can demonstrate the expected learning outcomes by comparing their performance with the stated learning objectives. They should also identify students' learning needs and the gaps in the learning process. Teachers can also suggest how to make marking more meaningful to students and fine-tune the marking criteria where necessary.

Implementation of new initiatives like e-learning, self-directed learning and enhancing teachers' assessment literacy was shared. There was discussion time after sharing from each school.

Part 2: Cross-focus sharing (with 7-8 curriculum leaders from different primary and secondary schools in a group)
