Introduction
to the project (Provided by the school):
Our work is
called "Extraordinary Coke" which is made up of seven parts. Through this
project, we have explored thoroughly the fantastic relationships between
Mathematics and the Coke.
|
Part One: |
To explore
the cheapest way of buying Coke |
|
Part Two: |
To explore
the most popular package of Coke
(We have interviewed more than five hundred people on the street in
our survey) |
|
Part Three: |
To explore
the most convenient way, in terms of occupying the least space, to
display cans of Coke |
|
Part Four: |
To explore
the best design of the can for Coke, which is in the shape of a
cylinder
(It is found that all the present designs of cans for Coke are not
ideal) |
|
Part Five: |
To introduce
the ratios related to various types of bottles of Coke
(e.g. the ratios of the heights of the bottles and the ratios of their
volumes) |
|
Part Six: |
To explore
the relation between the diameter, height and diagonal of a can of
Coke
(The Pythagoras’ Theorem is verified accordingly.) |
|
Part Seven: |
To explore
the percentage of water in Coke by distillation |
Through taking
part in this Competition, we become braver and have had a better
understanding of the mathematical concepts than before. We really have
benefited a lot! |
