Introduction to the project (Provided by the school): There have been countless renowned buildings since the ancient time. Behind the architectural designs, a lot of mathematical theories had been involved. Hence, in the hope that colleagues will be more interested in mathematics and understand more of the subject, we studied the relationship between mathematics and the architecture of various buildings. In the report, we will study the architectural design of some grand ancient buildings that are still here today, including the Great Wall, Pyramid, Pisa Leaning Tower and Maya Pyramid. Through the study, we found out their subtly relationship with mathematics. We did a questionnaire through which we got an understanding of how much our students know in terms of the relationship between mathematics and architecture. In the report, we have included a lot of description and pictures to illustrate such relationship. By reading the information, readers can understand our subject of study. |
