Important Notices

According to the requirements of the curriculum and the needs of students, teachers collaborate with the Section to develop school-based learning materials and design learning and teaching activities in the areas of "Mathematics Education", "Liberal Studies", "Science Education", "Personal, Social & Humanities Education", "Catering for Learner Diversity" and "Science, Technology, Engineer & Mathematics (STEM) Education". Mathematics Education S1-3 Computer software Preparation of Basic Statistical Diagrams

Statistical diagrams play an important role in statistical analysis. While a wide range of computer software can be used to draw statistical diagrams, it is quite a challenge for a secondary school student to master different settings. The design of this software allows junior secondary students who are unfamiliar with electronic spreadsheets to effectively create statistical diagrams.
Mathematics Education S1-3 Worksheet Learning About Reflective Transformation

“Reflective transformation” is a new topic in junior secondary curriculum. This worksheet presents “open-ended questions” through which students can use their own knowledge to solve problems on their own. It often takes two to three days to complete the experiments to study the necessary conditions for photosynthesis and so it is common for teachers to use the method of deduction with the aid of demonstration experiments conducted beforehand to explain that photosynthesis requires light, chlorophyll and carbon dioxide.

WONG Leung-kwun, the designer of the teaching kit, produced four video clips of the experiments as part of the kit “The story of the leaf”.

The videos are played in class so that students may grasp the experimental set-ups and procedures. Learning activities are designed through the use of “retrospection” and elements of investigation are also included.
