Welcome to the webpage of the Curriculum Development Council.

Since its inception, the Curriculum Development Council has been advising the Government on all matters relating to curriculum development from the kindergarten to senior secondary levels. It is my greatest honour to be appointed as the Chairperson for the new term of office.

Under the leadership of the past Chairpersons and with the support of Members, the Curriculum Development Council has worked closely with school personnel and other stakeholders in promoting the ongoing renewal of the school curriculum. With the concerted efforts of all parties concerned, we have made significant progress in promoting national education and national security education, values education and STEAM education, as well as optimising the senior secondary curriculum and so on, thereby fostering our students’ whole-person development and nurturing their lifelong learning capabilities.

Curriculum development is of paramount importance in quality school education. Looking ahead, in the face of the rapid developments at the local, national and global levels, as well as challenges and opportunities brought about by technology, more emphasis than ever should be placed on the ongoing renewal of the curriculum so that it can cater for students’ developmental needs and keep up with the times. The Curriculum Development Council will actively solicit the views of various professional sectors, uphold the principle of professional leadership, and work towards our country’s educational goals of “cultivating values” and “invigorating the country through science and education.” Through continually optimising the school curriculum, we strive to nurture students to become able and virtuous lifelong learners with a sense of responsibility, visions, and love for the country and the city, and enable them to unleash their full potential so as to contribute to Hong Kong, the country and the world.

This webpage provides educators, school personnel, and members of the public with the latest information on curriculum development steered by the CDC and its committees, and features curriculum documents and useful links for reference. Your comments and suggestions via email (cdchk@edb.gov.hk) are most welcome.

Thank you!
