Welcome to the webpage of the Curriculum Development Council.

The Curriculum Development Council (CDC) has been advising the Government on all matters relating to curriculum development from the kindergarten to senior secondary levels. It is my greatest honour to be reappointed as the Chairperson of the CDC for the new term of office. I am grateful to CDC members, school personnel and other stakeholders for their unwavering dedication and collaborative efforts in advancing the ongoing renewal of the school curriculum to keep pace with the times, fostering our students' whole-person development and nurturing their lifelong learning capabilities.

In line with the latest developments in our country, society and education, we have successfully implemented multiple initiatives over the past two years with a view to optimising the primary and secondary school curricula. These include preparing and updating various curriculum guides as well as optimising the curricula and assessments of senior secondary elective subjects. With broad recognition and support, we have systematically and effectively promoted patriotic education, national education and national security education in schools. At the same time, we have enhanced values education and STEAM education while strengthening the learning of national history and Chinese culture, thereby nurturing a new generation with virtues and talents, and an affection for our country and the city.

With the commencement of the new two-year term of the CDC, we will continue to uphold the principle of "Led by Professionals", bringing together experts and widely soliciting opinions. We are committed to fully implementing our country's core mission in education – "cultivating values and nurturing young people"— while aligning with the strategic direction of "invigorating the country through science and education" and "strengthening the nation with talents". By promoting the ongoing renewal of the school curriculum, we aim to empower students to fully develop their potential and contribute to national development.

This webpage provides educators, school personnel, and members of the public with the latest information on curriculum development steered by the CDC and its committees, and features curriculum documents and useful links for reference. Your comments and suggestions via email (cdchk@edb.gov.hk) are most welcome.

Thank you!
