> R & D Background
Tsang Pik Shan Secondary School is a typical estate school with students of under-privileged socio-economic background. Most of the students are of not particular high ability. The 2006 TSA results showed that students' performance in English, writing in particular was unsatisfactory. Facing the challenges of the new senior secondary curriculum, they used TSA and internal assessment data analysis as an entry point to diagnose students' strengths and weaknesses and to make reflection on the current practices of teaching, learning and assessment. Teachers then redesigned the curriculum holistically, implemented a process writing project to enhance students' writing skills and improved existing assessment practices to enhance a smooth interface between the junior and senior secondary curriculum.
