Aims of Activity :
 
 To provide teachers with an overview of classroom-level strategies for catering for learner diversity and scaffolding students' learning at secondary level
 To show how the strategies can be incorporated in lessons and units
 To provide teachers with hands-on practice of integrating the strategies into their daily teaching

Teachers shared their schools' practices in catering for learner diversity.
2:15 pm - 3:40 pm
Input giving part
 
Varying the teaching materials:
Teachers analysed the strategies used to plan differentiated teaching and learning materials for streamed classes. They were also shown how materials could be adapted for mixed-ability classes by the inclusion of certain features, such as providing choices for students and creating open-ended tasks.
Varying the teaching procedures:
Teachers learned how flexible groupings and various kinds of scaffolding could be used to cater for learner diversity.

Teachers worked in groups to apply the strategies they had learned to a set of teaching materials.
