 To provide a platform for participants of the CLD Programme to share their experience in writing up a plan, the difficulties or challenges encountered and possible solutions
 To inform the CLD participants of the objectives, expectations and arrangements of the inter-school visits

Part I Sharing on subject plan writing
 
9 CLD schools took turns to share with the other schools one of the objectives of the English Department, strategies they would adopt and the evaluation methods. The objectives they shared included how to enrich the English environment, implement self-directed/ independent learning and reading to learn, promote healthy & balanced development among students and enhance professional capacity of teachers.

Part II: Developing a learning community through inter-school visits
 
Teachers were informed of the objectives, expectations and the professional and administrative arrangements of the inter-school lesson observation activities.

Part I: Lesson observation activities in schools
 
 The purpose of lesson observation can be for both appraisal and teacher professional growth
 Well-designed lesson observation tools can help us collect useful data about how students learn
 Lesson observation needs to be well-planned in order for teachers to give constructive feedback

Part II: Developing a learning community through inter-school visits
 
 Different tools can be used to collect evidence to improve students' learning
 Tools can help us collect quantitative and/or qualitative data

Part III: How to prepare for lesson observation and give quality feedback
 
 Good preparation needs to be done at pre-, while- and post- stages of lesson observations
 A protocol can be used to guide the post-observation discussion
 Feedback should be focused, analytical, evidence-based and practicable

Part IV: Developing curriculum leadership capabilities through lesson observation tasks
 
Teachers reflected on what they have learned in the workshop and how these were related with the curriculum leadership capabilities.

Rounding up and Evaluation
 
 Lesson observation provides an opportunity for teachers to conduct critical enquiry into language teaching
 Different lesson observation tools can be used for different data collection purposes
 Good preparation is important in order to enable both the observers and the observed to benefit most from the lesson observation activity
