Introduction

To respond to the updated curriculum reform, middle managers need to implement some new curriculum focuses. It is necessary for them to learn how to lead the team to manage the change process.
9:10 am - 9:25 am
Part 1: Understanding how people respond to change

People react to change in different ways. This part of the workshop helps teachers reflect on their (un)successful experience and get to know different factors (scale, communication, vision etc.) that affect their change management.

9:25 am - 9:55 am
Part 2: What factors affect the success of an initiative?

Most factors, apart from money and time, are related to the stakeholders involved. Therefore if we want to lead the changes, we need to address their concerns.

9:55 am - 10:25 am
Part 3: How to prevent failure (I)?

The Concerns-based Adoption Model was used to help participants understand the stakeholders' concerns. The model starts from level 0 to level 6. Each stage shows how ready the stakeholders are when they are facing change. After finding out the individuals' and the school's concerns, the management can give suggestions and take actions to address each of the concerns.

11:40 am - 12:00 pm
Part 5: Key messages & conclusion

To ensure successful implementation of the new initiatives, curriculum leaders have to understand the internal turmoil every person experiences with a change event, help each person feel more comfortable with change and the process of change.
