Objectives of the Workshop : |
• identify and describe the different purposes of the LASW exercise;• explore ways to plan for and conduct the LASW exercise effectively; and• illustrate how to make use of the LASW findings to improve learning and teaching. |

Objectives of the Sharing Session : |
• provide an opportunity for the members to get to know more about the targets/objectives of the English subject in other CLD schools, the strategies they have adopted to achieve the targets/objectives, the difficulties they encountered and the possible solutions to solve the problems. |

Part 2: Planning for LASW (Pre-LASW preparation) |
• LASW can serve both accountability and professional development purposes. It helps teachers gain a deeper understanding of student learning and inform pedagogy and curriculum development.• Curriculum leaders should consider what data to be collected to help panel members understand students' performance and make objective judgement based on specific LASW purposes. |

Part 3: LASW in practice (While-LASW exercise) |
When teachers look at student work, they should look at whether students can demonstrate the expected learning outcomes by comparing their performance with the intended learning objectives. They should also identify students' learning needs and the gaps in the learning process. Teachers can also find out whether marking can enable students to understand their strengths and weaknesses and make further improvement. |

Part 3: LASW in practice (continued) |
• A protocol can be practised to communicate ideas with different parties in LASW meetings effectively.• Curriculum leaders tried out the protocol by analysing students' writing pieces and suggesting some possible follow-up actions that can be taken to enhance learning and teaching.• They can adapt the protocol in their school context and conduct LASW meetings as a professional task to promote curriculum and teacher development. |

Part 4: Sharing of school-based practices by Baptist (Sha Tin Wai) Lui Ming Choi Primary School: How do we conduct looking at student work meetings? |
Post-LASW follow up work and conclusionBy looking at student work, we can:• adjust instructional strategies,• plan and differentiate instruction for more able, average, and less able students,• set learning goals for students,• plan for professional development activities. |

Experience Sharing on Subject Plan Writing |
Curriculum leaders from each school shared one of the objectives stated in their subject plan, strategies they adopted and the problems they encountered or anticipated. Implementation of new initiatives such as e-learning, self-directed learning and RaC was shared. |
