Topic: Beyond Reading Comprehension

To empower the Resource Teachers to play their role as a “connected learner” and “curriculum/learning designer” (two of the crucial roles of RTs introduced in the first RT gathering), our Section organised the first professional development activity in the RTs network. The objectives of the webinar were as follows:

  • Learn the basic concepts associated with critical literacy (CL)
  • Use basic CL concepts to analyse how print texts and images construct implicit messages
  • Examine resources that can be used to teach CL
