Information about expertise:   Mr. Martin Lai, Coordinator of IT in Education (English Language) of Salesian English School, and his colleagues leverage technology to enhance English learning and teaching. For instance, pre-lesson preparation tasks, while-lesson collaborative tasks as well as post-lesson extended tasks using e-tools like Nearpod, Padlet and ClassDojo were developed to increase students’ involvement at different reading stages; exit tests were conducted with Google Forms to consolidate and follow up students’ grammar learning. With effective integration of technology into learning and teaching within and outside the classroom, students’ engagement in learning has been enhanced, their learning time maximised and the assessment mode diversified.

Information about expertise:  Ms Vian Siu, Panel Head of Integrated Science and Head of STEM education and e-learning of St. Teresa Secondary School played an active role in promoting Language across the Curriculum, Reading across the Curriculum & STEM education in the school. Through a STREAM project collaborated among different subjects including English Language, Information and Communication Technology and Visual Arts, students learned and applied effective strategies to construct scientific knowledge, acquired generic skills such as creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills and developed positive values and attitudes which pave the way for their development into lifelong learners.

Information about expertise:  Ms Freda Tse of Yu Chun Keung Memorial College No. 2 coherently infused life-planning education into different teaching units to help students understand their interests, abilities and career preferences, and explore different types of jobs available on the market. Visits to different places like restaurants and vocational training institutes were also arranged to create career-related experiences. Also, a variety of e-tools were used, which maximised interactions within and outside the classroom, thereby raising students' confidence in using the target language.

Information about expertise:  Mr Ken Ho and Ms Janetta Man of Lok Sin Tong Yu Kan Hing Secondary School used a variety of e-tools effectively to help students develop language skills and enhance formative assessment in school. Students were encouraged to produce and publish multimodal texts. The English Subject also provided support in promoting STEM education in the school by incorporating the aquaponics system (a school facility) into an S2 unit on “Going Green” to develop students' presentation skills in preparing them for STEM-related competitions.
