Physics World http://www.hk-phy.org At Physics World, teachers and students will find a rich and growing collection of teaching resources. This website is subdivided into seven main sections, under the heading of “Introduction”, “Teachers”, “Physicists”, “Physics Q&A”, “Further Physics” and “Useful Links”. The website provides teachers with the resources that are supporting the reforms of Physics Curriculum. Most resource materials (e.g. worksheets, PowerPoint presentations, video clips, diagrams, etc.) are accessible by general public while some teaching materials are exclusive for registered users only. Physics World is a dynamic site with new content being added on a regular basis. |

Essays from local physicists are provided both in English and Chinese versions. These essays covers a wide range of subject areas that will lead students to interesting reading on bridges, buildings, integrated circuit, lasers, microwaves, laser speed detection, telecommunication, solar power, smart materials, binary stars, and others. This website is full of links that will lead teachers and students to extensive reading materials. Follow-up activities and suggested teaching activities are provided so that many readers can make use of it. |

Under “Share Resources Section”, there are 14 folders offering interesting and useful resources for download. For example, selecting the link to project work one will find archives of information on the preparation and producing of water rocket. The website also posts news, forum, useful links and teacher training programs for teachers. |

Professional
Development Programme for NSS Physics Curriculum To facilitate the implementation of the NSS Physics Curriculum, a series of professional development programmes (PDP) is being organised. Major domains of the professional development programmes to be provided are: (1) Understanding and Interpreting the Curriculum; (2) Learning and Teaching Strategies; (3) Enriching Knowledge for the Physics Curriculum; and (4) Assessing Student Learning (Including Internal Assessment, School-based Assessment and Standards-referenced Reporting). This website consists of respective PDP course materials which have been delivered to teachers previously. The course materials can be downloaded by teachers. |

Energy and Use
of Energy http://iclassroom.hkedcity.net/teacher/teacher950 Exemplars for Energy and Use of Energy are developed to support teachers in teaching this elective topic. The exemplars are used to illustrate basic principles and applications of PV cell, wind turbine, heat conduction, lighting device and solar heater. The exemplars are tested and authentic measurements are conducted in schools. Teachers are encouraged to modify and amend these exemplars to suit the diversity of students. The exemplars can be downloaded by teachers at this website. |
