In groups, the students hold ‘company’ meetings to:
- decide what product it would try to sell;
- decide who their target customers would be;
- list and analyse the features of similar products on the market;
- brainstorm their product’s main selling points

- Viewing some TV commercials about shampoo and complete Part A of the TV commercials analysis worksheet with the teacher
- Viewing some TV commercials about facial wash and completing Part B of the TV commercials analysis worksheet in groups

- ‘Companies’ brainstorm the plan for their TV commercial (potential clients, messages to convey, summary of the story)

Students are reminded that the key messages in the TV commercial should align with the messages in the posters.

Students are also told the importance of writing the story boards before shooting the TV commercials. Examples of storyboards and the TV commercials are shown so that students can see the link between the story board and the TV commercials.

- The different ‘companies’ then complete the storyboard of their TV commercial.
 

All the promotional materials are collected in July. Feedback is given to students on how to improve their products before the summer holiday.

On the first week of September, teachers ask the students to look at the promotional materials again and start the sales presentation section.

Sales presentation
- Companies present their companies and products to the audience.
- The customers formulate questions while watching the presentations.
- The customers complete a sales presentation form after each presentation.
- The promotional materials are stuck around the classroom. Customers walk around the class to look at the products again and select the products they would like to buy (each customer can only pick one product). Customers show their preferences by putting a sticker in the space provided.
