Teacher:  Mr Barny Lam

Information about expertise:  Mr Barny Lam, English Panel Chairperson of Ying Wa College, possesses substantial experience in adopting assessment as learning practices to develop students' self-directed learning and sharpen their reading and writing skills. He is also competent in catering for the diverse needs of students, especially stretching the potentials of the high achievers through engaging them in a variety of meaningful and challenging activities.

As a recipient of the Chief Executive's Award for Teaching Excellence (2023/2024) for his work on "Empowering Learners: Innovative Practices and Self-Directed Learning in English Language Education", Mr Lam continues to share his experience and expertise in student-oriented assessment practices and innovative teaching strategies.

Information about expertise:  Mr Ken Ho and Ms Janetta Man of Lok Sin Tong Yu Kan Hing Secondary School used a variety of e-tools effectively to help students develop language skills and enhance formative assessment in school. Students were encouraged to produce and publish multimodal texts. The English Subject also provided support in promoting STEM education in the school by incorporating the aquaponics system (a school facility) into an S2 unit on 'Going Green' to develop students' presentation skills in preparing them for STEM-related competitions.
