SDL cycle components such as goal setting, using appropriate resources, and self-monitoring learning progress have been incorporated into unit planning and material design to develop students’ readiness to learn independently. To enhance students’ ability to use appropriate resources for learning, e-learning tools such as Flipgrid were introduced. Through creating their own presentation videos, students’ self-confidence and skills in speaking English were improved.
