Abstract R & D Background Purpose & Design Action Plan Findings & Analysis Implications Remarks
> Implications
1. Adopting a train-the-trainer approach

Setting up a core group can facilitate the planning process. Knowledge and experience can be passed on from the core teachers to others gradually. Also, with self-directed learning clearly defined and students’ readiness assessed at the beginning of the school year, teachers can work out clear directions and explicit learning objectives.

2. Providing opportunities for reinforcing self-directed learning
Setting self-directed learning as a school development focus is an effective strategy. Students will have opportunities to improve their capabilities in subjects other than the English Language Education KLA. They can reinforce some of the skills learned in the English classroom, such as self-management and self-monitoring skills, through applying them in other subjects.
