Information about expertise:  Ms Vivienne Tang, English Panel Chairperson of Pui Tak Canossian College, has led her team to adopt a whole school approach to implementing LaC/RaC to increase students’ language exposure and enhance their language and literacy development across KLAs. Besides, she worked with her school leadership team to make good use of the time released from optimisation to provide diversified options and activities to cater for students’ diverse interests, abilities and aspirations and foster their whole-person development.

Information about expertise:  Ms Vian Siu, Panel Head of Integrated Science and Head of STEM education and e-learning of St. Teresa Secondary School played an active role in promoting Language across the Curriculum, Reading across the Curriculum & STEM education in the school. Through a STREAM project collaborated among different subjects including English Language, Information and Communication Technology and Visual Arts, students learned and applied effective strategies to construct scientific knowledge, acquired generic skills such as creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills and developed positive values and attitudes which pave the way for their development into lifelong learners.

Information about expertise:  Mr Ken Ho and Ms Janetta Man of Lok Sin Tong Yu Kan Hing Secondary School used a variety of e-tools effectively to help students develop language skills and enhance formative assessment in school. Students were encouraged to produce and publish multimodal texts. The English Subject also provided support in promoting STEM education in the school by incorporating the aquaponics system (a school facility) into an S2 unit on 'Going Green' to develop students' presentation skills in preparing them for STEM-related competitions.

Information about expertise:  Ms Chan Ka Wai, Ms Wong Yee Lee, Ms Leung Sin Yee, Ms Lam Ting Kwai and Ms Choi Wing Yee of TWGHs Mrs Fung Wong Fung Ting College promoted Reading across the Curriculum (RaC) through equipping their S2 students with essential skills to read non-fiction texts. They also trained some of the S2 students as tutors to coach P6 students of a neighbouring primary school to read non-fiction readers in a cross-key stage RaC buddy reading programme. Through this programme, the S2 student tutors improved their coaching skills, as well as their self-monitoring and self-management skills.
