Foci of Development

To empower curriculum coordinators or vice principals as change agents for promoting whole-school curriculum development, for example:

  • to discuss on how to write three-year school plans and promote whole school engagement

  • to explore ways to utilize stakeholders’ opinions to enhance school development

  • to share on strategies to promote the latest curriculum initiatives (e.g. national security education, values education)

 

To share experiences and explore issues on school curriculum-related matters, for example:

  • cross-school sharing on curriculum leadership and effective pedagogical strategies

  • professional dialogues with different stakeholders in the education field to discuss the related education development for broadening the horizons of curriculum leaders

  • sharing of the implementation of positive education with a view to developing students’ positive values and attitudes towards life

 

Target Members

Nominees should be Primary School Masters/Mistresses (Curriculum Development), Assistant Primary School Masters/Mistresses (Curriculum Development), or Senior Primary School Masters/Mistresses

 

Modes of Support

School curriculum leaders in the Community will meet monthly to facilitate professional sharing and discussion on issues identified by members themselves

 

Expectations on Participating Schools

To make good use of the support services, participating schools are expected to:

  • provide administrative support in releasing participating teachers to attend all meetings throughout the year

  • share experience and resources with teachers from other schools such as work plans, learning and teaching materials, and students' work (The copyright of these materials will be co-owned by the EDB and the schools concerned. The EDB reserves the right to compile and refine the materials before disseminating them for educational purposes)

  • observe strictly their legal obligations and, in all cases, comply with the Copyright Ordinance in developing school-based learning and teaching materials
