Objectives

This support service aims to:

  • support schools to prepare for the implementation of the Primary Science curriculum, and to enhance teachers’ confidence and capabilities in teaching Primary Science for developing students’ science process and problem-solving skills, and fostering their curiosity and interests in learning science

Foci of Support

  • Enhance teachers’ professional capacities and deepen their understanding of the Primary Science curriculum, with a view to facilitating the planning and implementation of the curriculum
  • Facilitate experience sharing and resources exchange on specific topics among schools through joint-school sharing and cluster meetings
  • Foster professional exchange among schools through cross-school lesson observation, lesson analysis and hands-on workshops
  • Enhance curriculum planning and pedagogical design in response to school development needs through on-site meetings

Target Members

  • Each school can nominate two curriculum leaders who will take charge of the preparation and implementation of Primary Science such as the Panel Chairperson(s) of General Studies

Meeting Time

  • Monday afternoons (around 8-10 meetings in a school year)
