Foci of Support Services

  • Promoting experience sharing among participating schools — the schools would share school-based curriculum implementation and arrangements to promote inter-school sharing

  • Enhancing the understanding of the General Studies curriculum to improve the organization and implementation of school-based curriculum

  • Exploring “learning-teaching-assessment” in General Studies (e.g. enquiry-based learning, blended learning, scientific investigations, STEM education, values education)

  • Deepening the understanding of related curriculum initiatives to enhance the experience and confidence in implementing school-based curriculum

Target Members

Each school could nominate two General Studies panel heads

Modes of Sharing and Collaboration

Two types of meeting:

  • meetings to share the experience in implementing school-based curriculum (e.g. enquiry-based learning, blended learning, scientific investigations, STEM education, values education)

  • Cross-school collaborative lesson planning group meetings to explore a particular theme and facilitate peer lesson observations among the participating schools in the learning community

Expectations on Participating Schools

To make good use of the support services, participating schools are expected to:

  • provide administrative support in releasing participating teachers to attend all meetings throughout the year

  • share experience and resources with teachers from other schools such as work plans, learning and teaching materials, and students’ work (The copyright of these materials will be co-owned by the EDB and the schools concerned. The EDB reserves the right to compile and refine the materials before disseminating them for educational purposes)

  • observe strictly their legal obligations and, in all cases, comply with the Copyright Ordinance in developing school-based learning and teaching materials
