Government School Pilot Project

Energising Professional Capacity  Taking Forward Curriculum Initiatives

The Education Bureau has been committed to mobilising government schools to become leaders in education policy and initiatives. To this end, the School-based Curriculum Development (Primary) Section (SBCDP) has supported government primary school teachers through diversified support strategies with due consideration of students’ learning needs to implement various curriculum initiatives in learning and teaching and curriculum planning, such as strengthening values education to cultivate students' positive values.

Many scholars believe that the effectiveness of learning and teaching can only be improved through continuous professional exchanges among teachers. Their thinking concurs with SBCDP 's support strategies which emphasise collaboration with teachers. Our team and teachers of government primary schools have been collecting and analysing evidence of student learning during the curriculum development process so as to implement curriculum initiatives in effective ways. In the 2021/22 school year, we have organised a series of sharing sessions with government schools to facilitate professional discussions on learning and teaching in schools. The following are the sharing topics and highlights.
