> Abstract

With the goal of fostering greater connections between English language and other KLAs and increasing students’ language exposure under EMI education, Chan Sui Ki (La Salle) College started a cross curriculum planning and collaboration project between the English and Science subject in 2009, aiming at developing students’ language use in Science in a progressive manner.

Based on the insights developed from the cross- curricular project in IS, the school decided to extend the initiative further by adopting a holistic approach to the implementation of LAC in the school, aiming at enhancing students’ exposure to English and maximizing the benefits of using English to learn content subjects.

This school case is about how teachers use different approaches to make cross-curricular links between different subjects based on the school’s needs and contexts. Teachers from different KLAs were involved in this project. During the implementation, support from various stakeholders was obtained in order to overcome the difficulties encountered.
