Finding the right career path is crucial for us to achieve personal fulfillment in our lives. That is why creating opportunities for early career exploration can greatly help students develop and guide their career aspirations. Career exploration enables students to gain an understanding of possible career options, future studies and career development. It does not only introduce students to the working world but also helps them see what knowledge, skills and values and attitudes need to be developed to fit in with the working world. The English teachers of Maryknoll Secondary School therefore designed various career exploration activities inside and outside the classroom and collaborated with the Visual Arts teachers to organise a Career Information Day for students to share their project work about jobs. The learning experiences prepared students for their future studies and career and also gave them a stronger purpose for learning English.
