Strengthening values education is one of the major development emphases for schools’ ongoing curriculum renewal. Having accumulated abundant experiences in nurturing students’ moral and civic values through various school activities over the past years, teachers of Li Sing Primary School would like to deepen their students’ learning of positive values and attitudes by instilling the seven priority values in them, and set the promotion of values education as a prioritised development focus in P4 and P5 when revising their school-based writing curriculum at Key Stage 2. Teachers also made effective use of life events and topical issues closely related to their students’ lives, and incorporated some of the seven priority values into the writing components of the selected units.
