Visit a restaurant and have a meal there
Students visited the different parts of the restaurant and learned about the jobs of cooks and waiters or waitresses through hands-on activities such as salad making and table setting.

  • A questionnaire asking students whether they were interested in the different kinds of jobs in a restaurant and whether they could handle the jobs there

Getting around Hong Kong

Visit tourist spots led by tour guides
Students learned about the jobs of tour guides through real interaction. They also observed what knowledge, skills and attitudes were needed as a tour guide.

Introduce places as a tour guide

  • A reflection form asking students whether they had the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for a tour guide and the jobs they were interested in
  • Job advertisements showing knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for different jobs to raise students’ awareness of their own strengths and weaknesses

      

A bus tour around tourist spots and a walking tour along the Avenue of Stars led by tour guides for S2 students

Visit the airport
Students interacted with different persons at the airport such as the information receptionists, the salespersons at shops and the waiters or waitresses at the restaurants to gather some information. They also observed how people worked at the check-in counters and the departure gates, etc.

Serve passengers as a check-in assistant and a flight attendant

  • A personality test to guide students to better understand their personalities identify suitable jobs and senior secondary subjects
