Foci of Support Services

To plan and implement the focal points of the renewed Mathematics curriculum with Primary 4 to 6 as an entry point

  • developing blended mode learning by adopting the integration of online learning and face-to-face classroom teaching to conduct learning activities such as enquiry-based and problem-solving tasks to facilitate classroom interaction

  • strengthening students’ ability to integrate and apply knowledge and skills through incorporating STEM education in the Mathematics curriculum

To promote professional sharing – developing a cross-school collaboration platform to allow Mathematics teachers who are responsible for promoting school-based curriculum development from different primary schools to collaboratively explore the development of school-based curriculum, synergise practical experience and share learning and teaching resources

Target Members

One to two key Mathematics teachers from each primary school such as Mathematics panel heads and coordinators

Modes of Sharing and Collaboration

Through one to two monthly meetings to enhance the professional capacity of Mathematics teachers. Activities may include:

  • theme-based exploration

  • cross-school lesson observation

  • on-site support

  • joint school sharing

Expectations on Participating Schools

  • provide administrative support in releasing participating teachers to attend all meetings throughout the year

  • share experience and resources with teachers from other schools such as work plans, learning and teaching materials, and students’ work (The copyright of these materials will be co-owned by the EDB and the schools concerned. The EDB also reserves the right to compile and refine the materials before disseminating them for educational purposes)

  • observe strictly their legal obligations and, in all cases, comply with the Copyright Ordinance in developing school-based learning and teaching materials
