By offering students the opportunity to serve the mildly and moderately mentally handicapped, we hope that this project can enrich students’ experience in leading and planning community services. In addition, teachers can interact with other schools in coordinating student-led activities.

Students Workshop :

Our Learning Goals :

  • To organize activities and to achieve task delegation and cooperation among fellow students.
  • To have students involved in activities so that they can acquire knowledge in the process.
  • To allow students to plan the project on their own so that they can learn how to design games.

Our Reflection :
Project Teacher
New teaching pattern
“The project proved an effective means to help students work independently – an essential skill that every successful person needs after leaving school.”
Importance of deep reflection
“The visit made by Education Bureau also has a very positive impact on students. It allowed students to reflect on the knowledge and skills acquired before in order to have periodic reflection for accomplishing community service projects.”
To arouse a sense of identity among students
“To conclude, this activity provided a valuable opportunity of reflection for either teachers or students., We can enhance the value of the activity itself and its impact on other participating students by capitalizing on students’ own creativity, which arouse a strong sense of identity among students. Such outcome cannot be achieved by simply running the activity.”

Core Members
To strengthen sense of responsibility and self-confidence
“Through coordinating this activity, I found that the most important is not one’s ability but his/her sense of responsibility. Even though the tasks are out of your reach, your sense of responsibility would serve as a motivation, which allowed you to have the tasks completed or even have unexpectedly excellent performance. Through this activity, I realized that sense of responsibility is so important for us that it helps us to overcome difficulties in the future.”
Skills of delegating tasks
“We can only gain these experiences through actions. We can never understand such experiences by reading books. For example, when we come across some problems, instead of shifting off our responsibility or work to one another, we will assign fellow students who are good at such area to take the leading role.”
