School Name :

SKH St. Mary's Church Mok Hing Yiu College

Project Name : Learning Methods
Number of Core Students  : 8
Project Descriptions : After last stage, we have developed two plans this year - school administration forum and learning difficulties team. Not only designing the two plans, we also hope to pass on LED’s technique and process of reflection. Definitely, commitment to assume the responsibility to be the “first” is a must in inheritance. That means when the discussion begins, we need to bring up the discussion, tell the teammates what to do next. When the discussion becomes silent, we need to be proactive and bring up discussion. Gradually there will be a leadership role. The processes of planning and implementation are also passing on.

Our Reflection :

Project Teacher
Enhance Students’ Active Learning

“Last year, the whole event was guided by teachers step by step. Compared with this year, students have been able to operate the activity themselves, including leading the new members to have meetings, allocation of work etc. Whenever there were problems arose during the process, they could find ways to solve by discussion.”

Core Members
Enable others to act “In the course of discussion, we needed to proactively lead team members to express their opinions, and give freedom to allow them to discuss and carry out activities which assist them to continually participate next year.”
Sense of responsibility

We believe that the participants could learn cooperation between each other, communication skill and the sense of responsibility. Some students lacked of keen attitudes towards our committees’ request before the activity, however, with our committee and teachers continuous effort to invoke, they gradually knew the importance of   the Carnival. They took up the responsibility and paid effort to the activity.

Model the way

“Leading our committees to plan the activity, I learnt that being a leader has to set a good example and actively planning activities in order to let the team members throw themselves into the events.”

Challenge the process

“We changed from the previous mode, trying to first collect the students’ views of the school administration for screening, so that the questions could be more meaningful and representative in order to enhance the effectiveness of the activities.”
