Tier 1   Tier 2   Tier 3

Tier 2
In teir 2, schools try out their school-based Student-LED project. Tier 2 can be divided into four stages:

  • Principals, teachers and students workshop

  • In this tier, there are workshops for teachers and students. The workshops are facilitated by the organizers (a link to Part 2), namely Professor Edmond Ko, Dr. Ho Sai Man and Mr. Stephen Yip. The workshops enable teachers and principals to design a quality Student-LED project and facilitate students to highlight the importance of reflection and steer their focus on learning, not activity organisation.

  • School-based project implementation

  • After the workshop, participating schools start the Student-LED project at their schools. In this stage, project teachers recruit core students, create the conditions for the success of the Student-LED project, etc. The core students take the lead to design, implement and reflect on the experiences.

  • Project visit

  • In addition, a project visit is arranged for each participating school. During the visit, a representative from EDB, project teachers and core students co-construct the learning story through critical dialogue.

  • Poster Presentation

  • This is an opportunity for students to present evidences of their learning. In the 2010-2011 school year, the poster presentation was held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Professor Edmond Ko, Director of E2I HKUST, Dr. K. K. Chan, Deputy Secretary for Education, Ms. Lee Suet Ying, Vice Chairman of HKAHSS, and Mr. Wilfred Wong, Member of Curriculum Development Council, acted as critical friends and provided constructive feedback to students.
